The Shah Family Foundation Supports the Children's Healthy Breakfast Program

The Shah Family Foundation is proud to support Sai Dham Food Bank's Children's Healthy Breakfast Program (CHBP), which delivers weekly food hampers to more than 910 children and families across Peel Region. The partnership is grounded in a simple belief: no child should come to school hungry.

Founded in 2012 by Ms. Subhra Mukherjee and Mr. Vishal Khanna, Sai Dham has grown from a neighbourhood effort into an organization serving over 60,000 people across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. CHBP, its longest-running program, began in 2014 at a single school in Peel Region and has expanded steadily ever since.

Today, CHBP reaches 48 partner schools and continues to grow, with enrollment climbing throughout the school year as more families are identified in need. The Shah Family Foundation contributes $175,000 annually to the program, alongside support from the Region of Peel and community donors, helping ensure children arrive at school nourished and ready to learn.

Looking to the upcoming school year, Sai Dham aims to reach more underserved schools and communities, deepen partnerships with local businesses and organizations, and grow monthly support to over 4,000 children by the end of 2026.

The Shah Family Foundation's investment in CHBP reflects its broader commitment to locally driven solutions that support children's health, dignity, and ability to learn, starting with something as fundamental as a meal to begin their day.

As demand for CHBP continues to grow, additional support will help Sai Dham reach even more children and families. To learn more or to support the program, visit www.saidhamfoodbank.com.
